We also offer special handling seminars, with Professional Handlers who share their treasured tips and
tricks of the trade. Other special seminars include expert presentations on nutrition, dog structure, purebred dog breeding and grooming,
just to name a few.

Are you a proud purebred dog owner? Would you like to get together with other dog owners
and discuss the wonderful merits of your breed? Are you interested in showing your dog? Sudbury is home to many gorgeous Champion purebred dogs.
These dogs have competed in Canada,
United States and around the World.
The Show Section provides an opportunity for purebred enthusiasts to get together to discuss their breed and train themselves and their dogs for All Breed Dog Shows, Specialties and Sweepstakes.
We offer handling classes that provide a relaxing and encouraging atmosphere for the potential show dog to practice show ring routines. Owner/handlers learn the skills to feel confident to take their own dog into the show ring. Our instructors are volunteers and started out the same as you.
S.D.K.C. has a training facility in Lively, Ontario which provides a great place to work our dogs. See Classes, Seminars and Upcoming Events pages for upcoming classes and seminars. We support and encourage Junior Handlers, the young people under the age of 18 years who love to work with their dogs.
Our premier Annual Event is the S.D.K.C. All Breed Dog Shows held mid September every year at the Coniston Arena. This show attracts purebred dogs and their exhibitors from across the country, coming to compete with the best of Northern Ontario dogs.
Some of our section members are also Breeders and occasionally have purebred puppies available for sale to good homes. They would be happy to discuss if their breed is a good fit for your home, see the Breeders' List page.
